Hot off the Press

This fantastic new watercolour painting of “Grey Street, Snow Shower” has just come off the drawing board today. It will also be reproduced as a limited edition print of 95 and is available in two different sizes.

The painting captures the majestic sweeping curve of what has been described by the architectural critic Sir Nikolaus Pevsner as being the finest curved street in Europe. Despite being depicted on a dull, wet, winters day, I’ve wanted to create lots of life and movement through the figures dashing through the harsh elements, huddled under their umbrellas. The Theatre Royal stands as the jewel in the crown with its fine portico and classical columns. By Alan Reed

Norfolk

Today is a great day or will be when I’ve finished and got up to date with work stuff and blogging etc. Were off to Norfolk tomorrow with Louise, Ewan and Anya for a week, here’s hoping the weather will be good (warm & sunny) so that the kids can play on the beach. We are staying in a lovely cottage and intend to travel around a bit and Alan of course is really looking forward to exploring the area with a view to painting on various locations. He has been reading loads of books of his favourite artists including Rowland Hilder & Edward Seago who did some amazing paintings around Norfolk.

So keep an eye on his blog/website in the coming months as without a doubt he will have some new fab paintings.
